WhatsApp will soon introduce a verified account feature with
green ticks
for businesses like Facebook and Twitter have a blue tick
next to their name, and the company has also stated and explaining regarding
the new update in an FAQ post.
As per the FAQs page of Whatsapp, some business accounts
have already been verified by WhatsApp, and if you see a green tick mark next
to a contact's name, it means that the phone number of this contact belongs to
a business account that has confirmed by WhatsApp.
WhatsApp says users will know about this feature when they
“start talking to a business via yellow messages inside a chat.” As per the FAQs page, WhatsApp also stated that users would not have the option of deleting these messages from
inside the chat with a verified badge.
If a user has already saved the phone number in their
address book, they will see the same name reflected in the chat. But if they
don’t have the name saved, then it will reflect the name the business has
chosen.
You have an option to block them if you don’t like to
connect with them anymore.
Note: WhatsApp business verification is currently limited to
a small number of businesses participating in a pilot program.
